PTVoice's Loose Cannon Fire 4 30 11

Shrapnel types US archivesImage via Wikipedia
Just a little shrapnel from reading the fish-wrap and blogs....

How about the unions? Why isn't la Times asking about union donations?
Flaming hypocrites...

I'm all for not leaving a mess and I don't like smog, but, the arrogance of these people who thing "they" can change the climate? They can't even change their mind.

Tax the rich? Can't you come up with a better line than that?
I am not rich, but, you can only tax "the rich" so much, which we do. Plus, in the end it is the working class that get hit the hardest by taxes.
If there is no money, or not enough money, even union workers need to realize that adjustment should be made. I belong to a union so, I get it. The unions should be demanding that cuts made transparently and appropriately.

Flush 'em Friday 3 11 11 Edition

No flush urinal. Photographed in Tampa, Florida.Image via Wikipedia
Happy Friday everyone! It's time to Flush 'em Friday! Let's get this get's the bowling.

I would like to flush:
The LA voters for voting in the likes of Huizar, and Hahn. Stupid is as stupid does.

The mainstream media for being the largest most pompous, biased bunch of nut-cakes available for public viewing outside of the zoo.

Morrissey for ever being in a band and having a band.

The NBA refs for being so inconsistently consistent.

The NFL, owners and players, for fighters over such gigantic dollars publicly in these financial times.

Public unions for being clueless about the times in which they live.

People who turn without using their blinkers.

People who drive really slow because they think they are being safe and cautious when in reality they're just slow and forcing everyone around them to avoid them thus making all traffic near them unsafe.

Politicians, whatever the party, for flushing my money down the political drain.

And of course, Charlie Sheen for being the only one who doesn't realize he's still a drug crazed loon.

OK, SOMEBODY TELL ME WHAT OR WHO THEY WANT TO FLUSH!!!

Flush 'em Friday 3 4 11 Edition

A flushing toilet.Image via Wikipedia
Happy Flush 'em Friday everybody! It's time to call out the people and things who need to be flush right out! So, here is the list as I see it for Friday, March 4, 2011.

The half page fold over ad things on my daily newspaper they I have to move to see what I really want to read.

Idiots who wear Che Guevara t-shirts. Che Guevara was a thug and would shoot your mother in the head before shooting you if you disagreed with him.

Charlie Sheen for being his age and acting 20 stupid something. As usual, the idiot is apparently unaware that everyone else knows he is an idiot.

LAUSD and all other school districts for attempting to hold on to more teacher than are needed and now having to cut many more than needed loose.

LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa for falling off his bike and then becoming a bike riders advocate.

Unions for not knowing when enough is way more than enough.

Now it is your turn. Please leave me your Flush 'em Friday addition.

Flush 'em Friday 2 25 11 Edition

Squat outhouse (i.e. without seat) in PolandImage via Wikipedia
Heeeeeeellllllo everybody! Welcome to Flush 'em Friday, the 2 25 11 edition. Who would you like to see flush out of where ever they are?

Today I would like to see:

Muammar Gaddafi flushed out of control, for being such a crazy head job usually only seen in elections for Chicago mayor.

The voters of Chicago for voting in Rahm Emanuel...you get what you pay for...wait he got what HE paid for...

President Obama for making the word/number trillion synonymous with the US debt.

Union bosses for being the thugs and or general knuckle heads they tend to be.

My fellow California voters for voting in Jerry Brown and crew.

The liberal media (see CBS, NBC, ABC, "Public Television") for being the two-faced hypocrites they are (see any nearly any news show or paper).

Well, that is all I have time for this morning, I would truly enjoy adding your flushies to my list.

See Jane go, look out below

WASHINGTON - APRIL 22: Rep. Jane Harman (D-CA...Image by Getty Images via @daylife
I was greeted by my local paper this morning with the news that U.S. Representative Jane Harman is quitting her seat in Congress. My first reaction was of course to be pleased that she would no longer be hampering the South Bay with her "leadership". But, it kind of reminded me of when I first started teaching.

I started teaching right after an ugly two + week strike. When I heard how it all went down I thought that the Union president was a knucklehead. Then came the next Union president who had no clue how to bargain or walk across the street and thus made the first guy look better than he was. Following her was a man who I am sure only owned slip on shoes because tying them was way beyond his pay scale and in turn made the first Union president I knew look like a genius. Finally, we have someone who has his moments and a clue about bargaining  but his wardrobe can be embarrassing.

My point is that even though I am delighted to see Jane go, I am also worried about who may come after her. I worry because I live in her district where my fellow citizens have voted her in nine times even though, despite her alleged knowledge of the space industry, many aerospace jobs have left and Jane didn't see it coming! Seriously, I am surrounded by people who elected Jerry Brown in again! The rest of the country figured out that Obamanomics is does not work, yet Californians voted in every single left wing nut on  the ticket.

I am worried, because even though it is nice to see Jane go, my experience tells me that an even more liberal politician is just waiting for the opportunity to exploit the masses in the South Bay and rather not be exploited.

Hold on to your wallets, California!

Joshua Tree National Park: Climbing Jerry Brow...Image via Wikipedia
Well, here we go. Governor Jerry Brown. The man without a plan begins to unveil his plan upon us all. I don't know about the smoke and mirrors but what I heard heir Governor say was not all that hopeful.

He apparently thinks it will take honesty to tell us all we, as a state and individuals are out of luck. The question of how much we are overspending and supplementing and how "honest" Governor Brown is will let me know how serious he is about rising above HIS ideology. The fact that he brings up new taxes at all tells me he still just a tax and spend liberal.

I seem to recall that during his campaign he mentioned something about living within our means. For me that means that if I don't have the cash, whatever it is I would like to do or purchase (even if it's for my children), it is a big no can do until I have the cash. The problem with politicians, and if Jerry Brown is anything, he's a politician, is that they live off other peoples money. Jerry keeps bringing up the "No new taxes without peoples approval" mantra. That means he will take this year to demonstrate that "he" can't fix the budget by not cutting entitlement programs (because then who will vote for him). Then he will tell us we must raise more money = taxes. There will be (for himself) no other way around it. Californians will be shoveled propaganda about how we need to "sacrifice" and "invest". Never mind that all the investments of the past has proved to be stupid money foolishly spent. Investments produce something. What have the investments of our political leaders been producing? The product so far has been over 1,200,000 Californians have lost their jobs since 2005!

I call on Jerry Brown to take all talk of raising taxes off the table. I call on Jerry Brown to ask the unions that financed his campaign to take the lead in honesty and sacrifice. I call on Jerry Brown to ask the real hard questions like, "How long can California support those who do not work?" I am not talking about people who can not work. Forget the "everybody deserves" stuff. I call on Jerry Brown to ask the real questions about his beloved entitlement programs.

OK Jerry Brown, I am listening and watching.

Labor Day for a Conservative

LOS ANGELES, CA - JANUARY 29: United Teachers...Image by Getty Images via @daylife
Happy Monday! I hope you are enjoying your day off.

Today, if I am not mistaken, is supposed to be a day for labor to celebrate its' victories and the American laborer. I belong to a union because I work in a profession where you must be. I belong to a Teacher's Union. The members of a teachers' union are a little different than say dock workers or construction workers, not quite as visually intimidating. But, on Tuesdays we like to wear red to show our solidarity.

I do find my union helpful during elections. I find that if my union supports a candidate, measure, bond, or bill I should vote opposite of whoever and whatever the union recommends. (If you haven't figured out I'm not a leftist liberal, now you know.)

My union takes dues from me on a monthly basis; $57.42. The funds are used to pay for the building, the staff, lawyers, and the monthly newsletter. Donations are made to other political groups which are supposed to be our allies. I have never seen or heard of any of these "allies" when we are negotiating a new contract or attempting to push through some educational reform. I have asked why we give money to gay and lesbian groups? I am told they are our allies politically. Never seen them except across the hall teaching.

Anyways, what is the point of labor unions? If they don't learn to work with the company's their members work for they are only power hungry money mongers.
