Immigration Problem Solved

Last Saturday “thousands” of people rallied in support of swift immigration reform. According to the Associated Press, Rep. Luis Gutierrez, D-Ill. Introduced immigration reform legislation that includes the path to legal status for millions of illegal immigrants.

First, isn’t there already a path for legal immigration? So, should not the path for ALL be legal immigration? The first step is to cease being illegal immigrants and then talk to us about becoming a legal immigrant.

You see, Luis, most of us Americans are children or decedents of legal immigrants. We did it legally, why can’t they? That is why so many Americans have a hard time swallowing this pathway for illegal immigrants crap.

Second, I believe in a speech the then President of Mexico Vicente Fox described it as migration while US President Bush called it immigration. So, we must realize someone said people migrated back and forth from baja to California for “hundreds” of years and many people buy that as a reason for granting whoever wants to walk across the border a free pass. Am I supposed think people from Mexico or Central America are so stupid and illiterate that they don’t know it’s the twenty-first century!? That they don’t know what that big metal or cement thing is?

Reform? Just be legal. Problem solved!

Republicans Need to Stand Up for Steele

How incredibly but typically hypocritical of the Democratic party and its bulldog voice, also known as the press, to accuse GOP Chairman Michael Steele of anything. These are the same people who backed Bill Clinton. The same group who struggled with the meaning of the word “is.”

Worse than the Democrats are the Republicans for not just telling them to shut up! If he is your man, back him. An article by The Associated Press titled, “Most Republican Party state chairs backing Michael Steele” notes,” a lack of unanimity, however, reflected worries in the party about Steele’s management of the 168-member RNC.” So what, since when has America or any party agreed 100% on anything?!

Attention: Republican leaders. Buck up! No apologies to people who knowingly backed a lying President! Go Steele!

95/5 The Good, The Bad, and the Goofy?

I have this little theory. The theory is that in every class 95% of the students are good kids and 5% are bad, either goofy or evil. My problems occur when I let the 5% take up 95% of my time.

This year I have one class that is challenging those assumptions. I think the balance is off. It may be 60/40 rather than 95/5. Most students have something they want. Something they care about. But, what do I do with those who actually don't care? What do I do with someone who has not come to the realization that doing nothing will result in nothing?

My other classes prove the theory true. When I work the 95% who are good, the 5% who are not eventually come in line.

Maybe I just believe...

It's funny how our choices, even in Middle School can so effect the rest of our lives.

My Child, My Right to Know

Apparently there was a “crowd” of about 50 people, mostly women at a forum in San Francisco organized by the group NARAL Pro-Choice California. Six democratic candidates hoping to be the next California attorney general were the speakers. According to the Associated Press article by Sudhin Thanawala (Dems speak at abortion-rights forum) “All six candidates said they were opposed to requiring that parents of a minor seeking an abortion be notified.”

Abortion is wrong because life is life and we are all created in the image of God even if we don't believe in Him.

No “state” or government has more right than me as a parent to teach my child right from wrong. (I am a teacher and we can’t do what only parents can do, and that is, love their children, teaching them right from wrong.)

The assumption that some people who want to be in a public office believe that they know better than me what I should do is unbelievably arrogant. But, then again, this is the same group of liberal white people telling people of color that they will “help them”, so it really doesn’t surprise me.

This is the United States of America. Watch out, America! What will these people decide they know better than you next?

MY CHILD, MY RIGHT TO KNOW.

Thus saith me.

Pelosi: Who Can’t Cope?

Apparently Nancy Pelosi is surprised that people do not agree with her version of the truth and she believes that people who disagree with her are unable to cope with said “information.”

“Hello….hello…earth to Nancy…Come in Nancy.” Some people disagree with you because logic leads them to a completely different point of view. Your policies threaten the very freedoms my ancestors came to America for. For example, the right to run and live their lives without government interference or intervention.

Yes, people get angry. The Bible actually says to be angry and sin not. Do not be surprised by people’s anger. Doesn’t injustice anger you? Or are you just unable to cope? Please do not insult me by framing my disagreement with you as an inability to cope.

Lastly, do not be surprised that when you sided with a group of people under the guise of freedom by any means necessary (which I actually don’t have a quarrel with), if another group will rise up and seek or defend their freedom by any means necessary also.
Thus saith me.
