Murder weapon: Fleeing car

Suspects lead police on a chase. A child is hit during the pursuit and the media points a finger at the police. The header reads as follows, “Child Killed in LAPD pursuit.” Hello…is anybody home? What’s wrong with this picture? How about pointing the finger at the suspects who were out of control? No fleeing, no dead child. Pretty simple. The police did not hit the child. The suspects driving the car while fleeing from the police murdered the child. A 6 year old child was recklessly and brutally murdered. All three suspects should be arrested for not only fleeing the police and endangerment but for murder, not manslaughter, but murder. It is way past time to point the finger where the blame belongs, on the criminals!

Thus saith me.

Batten down the borders!

“Mexican police say 55 bodies have been recovered from an abandoned mine that appears to have been used as a mass grave by drugs gangs.”   2,200 arrested in U.S. crackdown on Mexican drug cartels” are just two headlines of articles that should alarm you. Yet, some still feel that the immigration and border laws are acts of prejudice aimed at people of Mexican decent. No, the Mexican drug cartels are out of control and the federal government is not doing it's job and so the states must deal with the problem(s) as best they can. America has enough troubles with drugs and gangs without the “migration” or “immigration” of any more. Batten down the hatches, lock the doors, build a bigger fence, make a shark filled mote, whatever needs to be done, but just keep them out!

Now, before any of you bleeding hearts get yourselves all riled up, that doesn’t mean don’t let anybody in, but, only let those who enter legally. That is why all nations have immigration laws. Laws protect those who obey the law. Laws are written to protect citizens. Elected officials are responsible to protect the citizens by doing such things as making sure the borders are secure. I am not seeing that with the Obama administration. Projects started to strengthen the border are stalled and the emotional pleas of illegal immigrants are weighed in the balance with greater value than laws and the needs of those of us who are law abiding citizens.

A good friend and colleague of mine became a citizen of these United States and then put himself through college. He eventually met a wonderful woman from his native country El Salvador, fell in love, and got married. Her paper work took longer than expected so she ended up having to go back to El Salvador for a few months before her visa cleared. They could have gone the easy rout and tried to have her stay in the country illegally hoping that she didn’t get caught. But, they chose to do things the right/legal way even though it was difficult.  Sometimes doing the right thing is more difficult, and may even require sacrifice, but hasn’t sacrifice always been a hallmark of American culture?

Pelosi Gets a Shout Down

Wow, even the left has issues with the left. Maybe Senator Pelosi you should consult Barbara Boxer on dealing with “grumpy” crowds. But, she does “hear” them and is on their side. Usually leftists groups with less to say show up at conservative meeting and yell out absurdities there. Nice to seem them with their own.

You must read this article.
Nancy Pelosi, the liberal House speaker, is heckled by liberals
“For 17 months, anger at President Obama and congressional Democrats has been pooling on the left. On Tuesday morning, it spilled onto the floor of an Omni Shoreham ballroom and splashed all over House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.”

Great Article by Newt Gingrich

The Democrats’ Job Killing Policies Kill Jobs
by Newt Gingrich
06/09/2010

The latest jobs report is solid evidence that Obama's big government, high tax, Washington-centered, bureaucratic, politician-dominated system is going to kill jobs and extend the current economic problems far longer than what is normal for a recession.

None of this should come as a surprise. Job-killing policies kill jobs. It is that simple and direct.

In my new book To Save America: Stopping Obama’s Secular-Socialist Machine (#5 last week and #2 next Sunday on the New York Times bestseller list) and in a keynote speech to the Detroit Chamber of Commerce last week, I outline the concept that 2+2=4 is the most important political and governmental slogan of the next 25 years.

2+2=4 matters because it reminds us that facts and basic principles are real and cannot be avoided even by the most articulate orators and demagogues.

The numbers from last week’s report on job creation were truly sobering.

In April, the private sector added 218,000 jobs.

In May, the private sector added only 41,000 jobs. That is exactly the opposite pattern from a normal economic recovery.

Normally, in the depths of a severe recession, the recovery accelerates month by month as confidence recovers, businesses invest and consumers come back into the market.

The shocking numbers for May (an over 80% decline in new private-sector job creation) combined with the fallout from the European fiscal crisis and the economic costs of the BP-Obama oil disaster in the Gulf will further slow down the economy.

These indicators suggest that there is a real danger of a second downward leg in the recession.

The fact is that of 431,000 nonfarm jobs added in May, 412,000 are temporary government jobs for the 2010 census, whose layoff in the fall will send unemployment rates up. Furthermore, the unemployment rate came down from 9.9% to 9.7% only because 322,000 Americans dropped out of the job market and quit looking for work.

Amazingly, the President actually adopted the position that these dismal economic numbers were encouraging, saying “The economy’s getting stronger by the day,” and a sign his policies are working.

The President is either being willfully dishonest or is ideologically blind to reality, seeing no difference between stable private-sector jobs and temporary government jobs.

To be clear, it will take 292,000 new jobs added every month until 2015 to get back to 5% unemployment. For the economy to remain flat, it would need to add 125,000 jobs a month.

Considering that these census jobs are all temporary, the data suggests that the economy became weaker in May, not stronger, as the President claimed.

This blindness to reality is dangerous because it is a sign the Democrats will continue to follow job-killing policies.

(If you are wondering how 41,000 private sector jobs could have been created when 412,000 of the 431,000 jobs added in May were federal government jobs (for a difference of 19,000), it is because 22,000 state and local government jobs were lost. For a full breakdown, click here).

Jobs Here, Jobs Now, Jobs First

We clearly need a new course away from the job-killing policies of President Obama and the Democrats.

American Solutions COO Dan Varroney has been working with members of our small-business task force on an aggressive plan to jump start private-sector job creation in the United States. The plan combines five key tax cuts with American energy development and a real plan to balance the budget.

We call it Jobs Here, Jobs Now, Jobs First because, as Dan puts it, “It’s time Congress acts to create jobs, not more government.”

A few weeks ago, Dan made the exciting announcement that Congressmen Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) have introduced legislation based on the tax cuts in our Jobs First plan. They call it the Economic Freedom Act and it includes:

• Reducing the payroll tax by half for 2010 to provide immediate liquidity for companies and employees;

• Eliminating the capital gains tax to encourage investment in new companies;

• Reducing the corporate tax rate to 12.5%, to make us competitive globally;

• Permanently eliminating the death tax so small businesses and family farms can continue creating jobs for future generations;

• Providing immediate business expensing so American workers have the best equipment and are the most productive.

We are encouraging you to contact your member of Congress today and urge them to co-sponsor the Economic Freedom Act (H.R. 5029).

The Obama stimulus has clearly failed. It’s time to get back to what we know works for job creation. 2+2=4

All work and no play…

Everybody needs a little play time. What do you like to do to sort of unwind? Me, I like a few things, golfing, fishing, a good long walk, or even cooking.

I took up fly-fishing a few years ago but, trying to get to a stream or lake that is fishable can make it more of an event than something I can just do on a regular basis. I discovered that people are fly-fishing in the ocean just minutes from where I live. Cool. But, then I needed the proper gear. My patience paid off and I was able to buy everything on line on sale. Nice. Now, I just need to go stand in the surf and start flinging my fly.

My youngest son and daughter are telling me we need to golf. Life is good.

I inherited this gene from my grandfather on my mother’s side that likes to do things from scratch. About six months ago I decided I wanted to learn how to make my own pizza (after shelling out $20 + bucks for one with more than two toppings). Thank you, food channel for an excellent recipe for pizza dough. Kneading the dough is sort of a release for me. As a man I think sometimes I need my hands to be active so my brain can sift through the clutter of the day.

Have some fun, enjoy today.

Go green, go broke

I just paid $14.97 for two new light bulbs for my bathroom, for the third time this year. They are the new "green" bulbs which are supposed to be more efficient and cost saving. I don't remember replacing my old light bulbs more than once a year if that. The stupid things cost more and last at best 25% as long! I don't notice a savings on my electric bill either. So, what's my point? Is going green really saving me money or is it just putting my green in some "green" company's pocket?

What about if I would like to go green with regards to my car? Well, here I can make another donation to someone's wealth fund other than mine. Hybrids start at $19,000! Compare the prices of a Toyota Prius and Yaris. The Prius starts at $21K and the Yaris starts at $12,605! That would have to be a $9,000 savings in gas over the course of five years ($150 per month!) for it to make any real difference to me.

I say going green is for the most part a crock! I just means my green into someone else's back account. Until it saves ME, the consumer actual dollar bills, it is just a scam to make money for someone else.

Thus saith me.

Objectivity and Newspapers like truth and and a carfaxless used car salesman

What is a newspaper supposed to do besides provide covering for the bottom of my bird cage? I thought newspapers provided me with truthful objective information and opinions in the opinion section. That was until I was in my late teens when I figured out that newspapers and worse yet network news were mostly just an extension of the democratic party, their propaganda division. In my twenties I really began to appreciate the even coverage of any  issue or election. The debates between sides were always great fun if you likes watching a bully. I mean, it always seemed that network news found the dumbest, meekest and ill-informed conservative they could find in the food line on skid row.
The only thing worse than network news was a show like Phil Donahoe! He was especially fair to Christians. I remember one "debate" with like five atheists vs. one really weak Christian and one intelligent one. Of course the atheists just yelled and Phil "moderated" the debate by cutting the Christians off and mocking the ideals he said they were saying but never got to say because Phil moderated them out of the conversation. A few years later when a colleague of mine went to a taping of his show and she came back with only a strong  impression of what a self-absorbed ass he was, I was not surprised.
So, when the LA times published an article entitled "Choosing not to choose" I thought it might be worth a read. Bla bla bla we won't take a side yet

I don't want the LA times to tell me their opinion if it's not in the opinion section! I want the LA Time and all other newspapers and agencies to present the facts and let me decide.

Thus saith me.
