No Tax Tuesday: The Internet? 3 22 11

NO (no) TAXImage by jasoneppink via Flickr
Well, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that anything Al Gore claims to have invented the liberals would want to tax the life out of it. Do the words repressive and progressive go together in the minds of liberals? (Yes.) Does the government need more money? (No.)

Now I know that politicians are feverishly seeking ways to generate more tax revenue rather than do the real hard work and cut the fat of their pork projects and entitlement programs. So, rather than seek the betterment of the citizens they claim to represent they are in the words of one former Democratic candidate for President, "I'm going to tax the hell out of these people." Again, who gains? Not me.

I call on citizens in all 50 states to tell their Senators and Representatives to find ways to ease the tax burden, not add to it. Any tax on anything can not be tolerated! Well, maybe a tax levied on any politician who votes to increase taxes!

Here we Go (Downhill) Again

Michael "Kevin Johnson" Dawson (play...Image via Wikipedia
Late last night I watched Marco Rubio give his acceptance speech for Senator for Florida.  I wish he lived here in California. I had just heard that we here in the formally great state of California had elected Jerry Brown, Barbara Boxer, Maxine Waters, and Jane Harman. My fellow Californians also passed Proposition 25 which changes the vote needed from a 2/3 majority to a simple majority to pass budgets, taxes and stuff. Wow, now the voice of conservatives has no chance to be heard or have any influence because now Democrats won't have to seek compromise, it will be like Nancy Pelosi running the House. Disaster.  My wife has been wanting to move to Florida. It is hard to say no after last night.

The good news is that at least Republicans took back the House of Representatives and gained some ground in the Senate. Actually the real news is that true conservatives have finally woken up and made their voice heard. For all those racist liberals who called the Tea Party racist I believe the last count I heard last night was that the Tea Party help 11 African Americans get elected. Conservatives are of the common man, regardless of color.

On the whole it was a good night for Conservatives unless, like me you live in California, where we have protected smelt fish, hope for clean air and clean water but no jobs to pay for it.

All Call to Conservative Leaders

Ronald and Nancy Reagan at the 1988 GOP conven...Image via Wikipedia
Is it funny, odd, or distressing that the Republican Party old-timers are gripping about TEA Party candidates? As a punk I find it kind of amusing that the oldie but moldy GOP "leaders" are having a hard time with these up and coming TEA Party candidates. As a Republican I find it odd that some of the GOP folks have trouble with conservatives. What I find distressing is that the group formally known as conservatives have difficulties with their constituents who are plainly calling for their representative Senators, Representatives and any other politician calling themselves Republican, to act and vote like a conservative!

I have grown up always understanding that the Republican Party was against big government and taxes. I came of voting age and began voting during the late President Ronald Reagan's terms in office. America was great. As a true fiscal conservative he starved excessive government programs to rid the government of fat. Thank you Ronny! But, ever since Reagan we have had President after President, Democrat and Republican, that have simply added more government and increased taxes.

It is time for the GOP to pull its collective head out of the posterior shaped sand castle and LISTEN to what the people who voted them into office are telling them. We are Taxed Enough Already!

Why the Media Struggles with the Tea Party

Why is it so hard for the media to grasp the Tea Party? It’s not like they are using a cipher code to send out their message. The message seems pretty simple to me: Be a representative of the people or be voted out. Stick with the constitution, meaning shy away from “interpreting” what the constitution means, or be voted out.

I think the real struggle for the media is that they (the media) have become so far removed from the reality of life and they are surrounded by themselves that they can’t tell they are knee deep in their own crap. I mean look at George Stephanopoulos who is a political commentator for ABC. Are you kidding me? Just put a skirt on him and give him pompoms! He’s a cheerleader for the Democratic Party, without the ability to be fair or unprejudiced. Wikipedia tells us that, “Prior to joining ABC News, he was a senior political adviser to the 1992 U.S. presidential campaign of Bill Clinton and later became the White House Communications Director.” For heaven’s sake he worked for Wild Bill Clinton! That is just one example of the obvious bias of the propaganda wing of the Democratic Party also known as network news. They don’t get it because they think they are the keepers and guiders of all social upheavals and struggles.

The Tea Party is about normal American citizens who are tired of their elected representatives not representing them. That includes Republicans who the have failed to push conservative values and agenda items. This is different than the lame Coffee Party (where are they?) which only came into being to try to counter the Tea Party movement and not to question the motives and action of their own Democratic leadership.

Memo to the media: Start telling the truth and showing both sides fairly or eventually we will watch another channel, listen to another radio station and use the internet to find unbiased or at least alternate coverage.
