Flush 'em Friday 2 25 11 Edition

Squat outhouse (i.e. without seat) in PolandImage via Wikipedia
Heeeeeeellllllo everybody! Welcome to Flush 'em Friday, the 2 25 11 edition. Who would you like to see flush out of where ever they are?

Today I would like to see:

Muammar Gaddafi flushed out of control, for being such a crazy head job usually only seen in elections for Chicago mayor.

The voters of Chicago for voting in Rahm Emanuel...you get what you pay for...wait he got what HE paid for...

President Obama for making the word/number trillion synonymous with the US debt.

Union bosses for being the thugs and or general knuckle heads they tend to be.

My fellow California voters for voting in Jerry Brown and crew.

The liberal media (see CBS, NBC, ABC, "Public Television") for being the two-faced hypocrites they are (see any nearly any news show or paper).

Well, that is all I have time for this morning, I would truly enjoy adding your flushies to my list.

Homework (Atomic Rooster album)Image via Wikipedia
When I came home from work yesterday my youngest son came up and gave me a hug. Then I kissed my wife and hugged my daughter. After changing and settling down a bit I looked over my son's homework and went over a few things with him. He is in third grade and in math they are reviewing multiplication and division facts. The sad thing is, I have not spent much if any time going over his multiplication facts with him, yet, he pretty much knows them all. He said he did make a times table chart at school once. So, I am happy he is doing well but, sort of embarrassed that I have done so little. Now, my wife does go over his homework before I get home. I guess he has a better memory than mine.

What is good is that I can enjoy some other things with him rather than just going over his homework. I am really thankful that I can come home and enjoy my family. Work has been pretty intense and the stress levels are high, and, I deal with middle school students and their parents on a daily basis, so, enjoying my children makes it all worth it. I hope you are able to enjoy the family and friends given to you.

No Tax Tuesday: What would the Fathers say?

Mount RushmoreImage by Travis S. via Flickr

There is a reason are founding fathers were able to set the course of our great country. They hated government intrusion into their lives and recognized the danger and evil that any government will inflict upon its' people if allowed to become the center of power.

Thomas Jefferson:
The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.To compel a man to furnish funds for the propagation of ideas he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.

George Washington:No taxes can be devised which are not more or less inconvenient and unpleasant.
I wonder what our founding fathers would say about the government that now inflicts itself upon its' people? Would they call for a second revolution? Would they call us to arms to defend ourselves against the tyranny of big government out of control? What would they say to those who assail their constitution as a group of antiquated ideals?

Flush 'em Friday 2 18 11 Edition

Instructions for Variable Flush ToiletImage by ATIS547 via Flickr
Well, it's Flush 'em Friday!

This week I'd like to flush middle managers who like to dump tasks on others and call themselves delegators right down the old porcelain thrown. Especially those who announce the transfer of responsibility with the question, "Why isn't this getting done?" or "Why didn't you do this job that was never assigned to you?"

California Governor Jerry Brown and the voters who placed him in office need to be flushed. His clueless and meaningless attempts at fixing things are all just a prelude to asking the working people of California to pay more taxes for the rest of their lives. Taxes to fund crap not pay off debt. What did Forest Gumps mother say? "Stupid is as stupid does."

TV sitcom writers because they can't come up with anything besides lewd sexual references.

The Disney channel because it is just a 24 hour commercial.

Who would you like to see Flushed on Friday?

She's a Keeper!

A little over fifteen years ago, as I was greeting people at my church I saw a beautiful creature walk past me. After a few "coincidental" crossing of our paths, we began to talk, date and the rest is history.

Today, I would just like to let my wife know I love her and I am grateful to be married to her and sharing our lives together.

I was talking to someone the other day about being passionate and opinionated (me) and how at times our conversations can reach def-con levels. But, we've made it 14 years so we must be doing something right. I appreciate that my wife will tell me what she really thinks. Honestly is a bedrock of any relationship. I am in awe of her devotion to and nurturing of our children. They will never say (without being laughed at) that they were not loved.

Most importantly, I believe our shared belief and commitment to follow God gives us the spiritual north star to guide us through out lives. Happy birthday, honey! You're the best!

No Tax Tuesday: No Need for Federal Waste 2.15.11

A money changer deviceImage via Wikipedia
The Federal Government has a place. Just how much of a place is enough? When it is just a waste of money and a matter of big government payouts, that is too much.

I think when I send my hard earned money in the form of taxes to the government the stewardship of its use should be of utmost importance. The problem is that just by the fact that the federal arm of the government touches the money once costs more than it is worth. Why? Because at the very least scores of people are paid to dole out the money in forms of grants to states. Think of it like this: You "invest" in an IRA that claims big returns, but, in reality charges a 10% handling fee. Even if the IRA did make a 7% profit it would be a 3% loss. There is no profit (for tax payers) with taxes. There is only loss.

So, I say, if tax funds are used for state issues such as education and welfare, let the money be collected by the states and handled by the states. Less red tape, less government waste. The results would be less taxes with better results.

Spend to Save?

PayoutImage by be OH be via Flickr
AP - President Barack Obama is sending Congress a $3.73 trillion spending blueprint that pledges $1.1 trillion in deficit savings over the next decade through spending cuts and tax increases.
Excuse me? Spend $3.73 TRILLION to save $1.1 TRILLION over 10 years!?
#1. Unless the plan is to limit and or cut entitlement programs no control is real or sustainable.
#2. Raising taxes will only hurt those who pay the taxes which ALWAYS turns out to be the middle classes (=me, you).
#3. Sending money to the federal government to dole out back to the states is just a massive money laundering operation and waste of tax payers money.
#4. When a politician (whatever the party) says investment what they mean is payout to a group of people to ensure they will get re-elected.

The facts of life are that money spent is money gone or money owed and savings is only savings if it is actual money in an actual place.
