John McCain, John Boehner, Jerry Brown and the minimum wage on Flush 'em Friday the 9 27 13 Edition

Happy Flush 'em Friday! Time for some well deserving entities, real or imagined, to be unceremoniously given a down the drain exit. This week's nominees are...

• John McCain - for making a stupid comment about the Dodgers jumping in the pool to celebrate after all but about 100 fans left the building. Also for NOT fighting with Ted Cruz to stop Obamacare.  
• John Boehner - grow some hair on that sorry excuse for a chest! Be a leader, take a stand against something!  Your party, the people who voted you in, not the knuckleheads who voted in Obama, don't want Obamacare. 
• People who think raising the minimum wage will actually help minimum wage earners. Yes, it will help them pay more for that Big Mac which will go up in price to cover the cost of rising labor! 
• Jerry "moonbeam" Brown - for raising the minimum wage and the cost of eating out, and lowering the standard of living for all.

Well said. I used to work for a very well run restaurant chain. They were family owned and actually, contrary to liberal dogma, cared a great deal about all their employees. Many employees were paid minimum wage plus tips. When the minimum wage was increased was the cost of meals increased.
All restaurants raised their prices, from McDonald's to Mimi's Cafe.
When the minimum wage goes up the standard of living for the poor and middle classes goes down. Not smart. Not helpful.

PSYCOLOGY ?! Are you kidding me? Leave it to part of  the liberal propaganda machine to ignore the obvious problem. Job creation does not come from taxing the life out of business. Yet, Democrats keep trying, keep failing, keep blaming and keep avoiding reality.
Job creation is down because the failing policies of the Democrats and Obama are not effective, they are destructive.

What good has el presidente done? The un-affordable health care act? The wonderfully high gas prices? The taxes to the middle class that he promised to not allow? The budgets he has failed to offer, let alone pass? Maybe the historic debt he has created? Good? Not really.

Just because Obama was a "law professer" that does not mean he was a good one. Since both Obamas agreed to give up the right to practice law because of some "questionable" actions, maybe his grasp of the true meaning of the law is lacking.

I don't hate homosexuals, I simply do not agree that two people of the same sex in a relationship is the same as a man and a woman in a relationship. I am neither ignorant of why some disagree with me or homophobic towards those who consider themselves gay. Some are my friends and co-workers, whom I respect. To disagree is not the same as hate.

At least Ryan wants you to read it before you vote on it. Maybe he should suggest that Congress should vote it in before reading it and perhaps more Democrats would vote for it.

In contrast there is always the Obama/ Democrat budget: Tax the rich (we mean middle working class)!

No Tax Tuesday: The Minimum Wage Tax

Yea, yea I know that the minimum wage law is not officially a tax. But, because it is forced upon employers to pay employees a minimum wage, it acts like a tax.

Now, I know some of you bleeding hearts out there will ask,”But don’t you think people should earn enough to provide for themselves and there families?” Who said they didn’t ? Conservatives believe even more strongly that everyone should earn a fair wage for their services or product. That is why we know that raising the minimum wage is a farce and hurts those it purports to help more than it helps.

Why I know that minimum wage increases sound good, in reality, like all other liberal ideas, hurts the most the ones it profess to want to help.

It is pretty simple actually. When the minimum wage increases the price for any goods or services that rely on minimum wage employees rises also. The price rises because the cost for labor is part of a simple formula used to calculate profit. Let’s take McDonald's for instance. McDonald’s has been around for a long time. Their business model and profit formula is set. So, anytime the government raises the minimum wage, the price for a Big Mac rises also. Because McDonald’s needs to at least maintain its profit margin if not increase it.

Now, let me ask a question. Who does it affect more when they go to buy that Big Mac for their children, the minimum wage earner or the “wealthy” wage earner? Isn’t that a no brain-er? Of course the minimum wage earner will feel it more! Yes, s/he makes more, but everything s/he buys costs more. So, it doesn’t help the minimum wage earner, it only frustrates them because while they are making more money the end result is zero gain and the carrot stays the same distance away.

Now I know that liberals will blame those horrible capitalists (who provide jobs) for being greedy. Please, grow up. Just because someone wants to make a profit, which is another way of saying make a living and provide for their families, that doesn’t not make them an evil person.

The minimum wage “tax” hurts, it does not help.
