No Tax Tuesday:Where Are All The Green Jobs 8 23 11 Edition

President Barack Obama talks at the DeSoto Nex...Image via Wikipedia
Where are all the green jobs I heard both President Obama and California Governor Brown talk about "investing" in? I might even ask, "Where are any jobs?" That's what many of his own people (since he doesn't consider the half the raised him part of himself) are asking. Even Representative Maxine Waters (who has done squat divided by three for her people) wants to know where the jobs are?

I decided to check out these so called green jobs. I went to http://greenjobscalifornia.org/ . There are quite a few headings under the  "Green Jobs Guidebook" section. Let's check them out and see what hope someone might have now that we have had a few years of real change. Under Low Carbon Power and Renewable Power there was one job for a Power System Operator and Instructor with a salary of $25 - $30 per hour. There was no minimum education required, no recommended college course work, but a High Level of experience needed: 10 years of progressively responsible and with 5 years in control room operations and 3 years as a Senior Shift Power System Operator. For the Solar Power and Photo voltaic (PV) Systems position there is a "Sorry, there were no jobs that met your query" response. When there is a "job" description it is described as Growth Potential, but, I have trouble finding the actual links to actual job applications.

Where are these jobs? Where are any jobs? I did hear that the POTUS is going grant a Spanish company, Abegnoa Bioenergy,  $134 million in loan guarantees that will created 65 jobs. Palin says that is $134,000,000 /65= $2,061,538.46 per job. Now, just for fun let's extrapolate that a bit. For every 1,000 jobs that would be an investment of $2,061,538,460.00. After that the numbers get a bit much for my tiny calculator. Besides the obvious question, "Why not an American company?", how about 1,000's of real jobs that might actually help actual Americans?

I'll bet that if you gave $2,000,000 to 1,000 Americans at least 10% of them would create businesses that would employ more that 65 people. I'll bet that if you gave 65 Americans the $2,000,000 at least 10% of them would create businesses that would employ more than 65 people!

Give me $2,000,000 to create jobs...

Hahn vs. Huey on No Tax Tuesday 6 14 11 Edition

Boxing2-clinchImage via Wikipedia
This is a gimme. Hahn is a born and bread liberal tax and spend, or is that spend and tax, Democrat who loves to play the "tax the rich" card. Truthfully she wants to tax the living crap out of each and every hard working person with a job and and a backbone. Unless of course you are an oil company in her home town.

Janice Hahn is in favor of taxing pot dispensaries. Very creative Janice, way to think outside the box. What's that? Pass the chips?

She also has vacillated on taxing the rich oil companies. Hahn introduced measure O which would impose an oil severance tax on oil extracted within city limits. Now, she opposes her own measure. It seems the companies in her home town complained that it would harm them financially. Follow the money.

In total contrast to Janice Hahn we have Craig Huey, a businessman who has actually personally provided jobs for others. He understands what it takes to bring businesses back to the South Bay and to help the economy grow. The myth of the green job is nothing more than a myth and an attempt to control business via the government. Craig Huey understands this because he has been there as a businessman. Janice Hahn will vacillate her views according to who pays her the most money. Huey is not asking for money, he's asking for an opportunity to help businesses, not government, provide jobs.

So, the choice here in the South Bay, will be between old time liberal Democratic values, which are failing the South Bay as jobs leave at alarming rates, and the old American values of hard work and less government. Let the money go to the people without the government getting their  sticky fingers on your hard earned money.

Huey = jobs and more money for working people. Hahn = more taxes and less money for working people. You make the vote.

Throw the Bums Out!

Category:Westminster constituencies in the Rep...Image via Wikipedia
Now California, my home, I plead with you to make a political shift. For years we have been under the leadership of Democrats. What has it got us? We were the great state of opportunity, now we are not. People, jobs, and businesses are leaving in numbers that have never seen or even heard of. Who's keeps voting them in, not me?

For years my fellow Californians have voted in Democrat after Democrat. Occasionally, we have a Republican as Governor, but with Willy Brown and his successor in office, it's more than an uphill battle. Yet, we keep electing the Hahns, Boxers, Browns, Harmans, Sanchezs, Villaraigosas, and the like. Have we gotten any different results? No. Do we have more jobs? No, over 1,000,000 less sense 2005 factually.

I forgot to mention the Maxine Waters, Mark Ridley type crew. Do they really help their people? Do they only help their people? Why are there still housing projects with generations living in the same unit? Isn't it time to require some sort of accountability from those who say they are trying to help? What jobs have been brought to the inner city because of the efforts of Maxine Waters? She did help a bank her husband (and thus SHE) had interest in. There is just more poverty, not more jobs and affluence.

I am asking my fellow Californians to hold all our elected representatives accountable. If they are not seeking to provide opportunities for businesses in your area they do not give a lick about you. If something isn't done to allow a business to provide you a job, what are they doing?

My question to Brown, Boxer, and the entire left; where are the jobs?
My question to Californians; why do these officials still have jobs?

The Democrats’ Job Killing Policies Kill Jobs
by Newt Gingrich
06/09/2010

The latest jobs report is solid evidence that Obama's big government, high tax, Washington-centered, bureaucratic, politician-dominated system is going to kill jobs and extend the current economic problems far longer than what is normal for a recession.

None of this should come as a surprise. Job-killing policies kill jobs. It is that simple and direct.

In my new book To Save America: Stopping Obama’s Secular-Socialist Machine (#5 last week and #2 next Sunday on the New York Times bestseller list) and in a keynote speech to the Detroit Chamber of Commerce last week, I outline the concept that 2+2=4 is the most important political and governmental slogan of the next 25 years.

2+2=4 matters because it reminds us that facts and basic principles are real and cannot be avoided even by the most articulate orators and demagogues.

The numbers from last week’s report on job creation were truly sobering.

In April, the private sector added 218,000 jobs.

In May, the private sector added only 41,000 jobs. That is exactly the opposite pattern from a normal economic recovery.

Normally, in the depths of a severe recession, the recovery accelerates month by month as confidence recovers, businesses invest and consumers come back into the market.

The shocking numbers for May (an over 80% decline in new private-sector job creation) combined with the fallout from the European fiscal crisis and the economic costs of the BP-Obama oil disaster in the Gulf will further slow down the economy.

These indicators suggest that there is a real danger of a second downward leg in the recession.

The fact is that of 431,000 nonfarm jobs added in May, 412,000 are temporary government jobs for the 2010 census, whose layoff in the fall will send unemployment rates up. Furthermore, the unemployment rate came down from 9.9% to 9.7% only because 322,000 Americans dropped out of the job market and quit looking for work.

Amazingly, the President actually adopted the position that these dismal economic numbers were encouraging, saying “The economy’s getting stronger by the day,” and a sign his policies are working.

The President is either being willfully dishonest or is ideologically blind to reality, seeing no difference between stable private-sector jobs and temporary government jobs.

To be clear, it will take 292,000 new jobs added every month until 2015 to get back to 5% unemployment. For the economy to remain flat, it would need to add 125,000 jobs a month.

Considering that these census jobs are all temporary, the data suggests that the economy became weaker in May, not stronger, as the President claimed.

This blindness to reality is dangerous because it is a sign the Democrats will continue to follow job-killing policies.

(If you are wondering how 41,000 private sector jobs could have been created when 412,000 of the 431,000 jobs added in May were federal government jobs (for a difference of 19,000), it is because 22,000 state and local government jobs were lost. For a full breakdown, click here).

Jobs Here, Jobs Now, Jobs First

We clearly need a new course away from the job-killing policies of President Obama and the Democrats.

American Solutions COO Dan Varroney has been working with members of our small-business task force on an aggressive plan to jump start private-sector job creation in the United States. The plan combines five key tax cuts with American energy development and a real plan to balance the budget.

We call it Jobs Here, Jobs Now, Jobs First because, as Dan puts it, “It’s time Congress acts to create jobs, not more government.”

A few weeks ago, Dan made the exciting announcement that Congressmen Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) have introduced legislation based on the tax cuts in our Jobs First plan. They call it the Economic Freedom Act and it includes:

• Reducing the payroll tax by half for 2010 to provide immediate liquidity for companies and employees;

• Eliminating the capital gains tax to encourage investment in new companies;

• Reducing the corporate tax rate to 12.5%, to make us competitive globally;

• Permanently eliminating the death tax so small businesses and family farms can continue creating jobs for future generations;

• Providing immediate business expensing so American workers have the best equipment and are the most productive.

We are encouraging you to contact your member of Congress today and urge them to co-sponsor the Economic Freedom Act (H.R. 5029).

The Obama stimulus has clearly failed. It’s time to get back to what we know works for job creation. 2+2=4
