Christopher Hubbart, the NCAA, the US Open, and Johnny Manziel on Flush 'em Friday, the 8 30 13 Edition

Happy Flush 'em Friday! Time to flush those who need to be sent on a trip down the old crapper.

Todays' nominees:

  • The judge who is releasing Christopher Hubbart, the "Pillowcase Rapist", again. A "mentally disordered offender" is what he's called! How about he's a man who  has chosen to be evil?
  • Any Senator or Representative who does not oppose, reject and fight against the President's move to declare war or send American soldiers into harm's way without congressional approval.
  • Alex Rodriguez...enough is enough.
  • The NCAA for their wimpy and inconsistent handling of the Johnny Manziel autograph signing deal. (What's going on with the U. of Miami deal?)
  • The crowd at the US Tennis Open last night that was cheering for the Frenchman over Isner the American! Well, what do I expect from a bunch of morons who voted for a mayor who tries to control their soda intake...
  • Lamar "Candyman" Odom for being arrested  on suspicion of DUI this morning.  Nothing good happens after 2am.
Well, that's all I can stomach for today. Who did I forget?

Loose Cannon Fire: Shovel Ready the 8 27 11 Edition

Cannon Fire at JanneyImage by DelosJ via Flickr
What follows are some quotes that just sort of stuck out to me...

But hating the Tea Party for being so insistent and single-minded in its focus on cutting spending is like hating a fire hall siren for calling attention to a potentially devastating blaze. And blaming the S&P downgrade on Tea Party-backed House Republicans makes about as much sense as blaming a raging fire on the 911 dispatcher. -  Jeff Jacoby (Town Hall)

I've heard more than 20 years of this oppressive windbaggery from do-gooder liberals who treat my unhyphenated American brothers and sisters and me as treacherous puppets for The Man. Their smug refusal to acknowledge free will, individual choice and true diversity of thought confirms that race-obsessed liberals remain the most unrepentant and odious racists of all. - Michelle Malkin (Town Hall)

I don’t know if you saw this with all the news yesterday. Illinois lost 89,000 jobs since enacting the largest tax increase in the history of the state, as reported by the Illinois Policy Institute.
It was the largest job loss of any state in the nation. - Jeff Carter (Town Hall Finance)

“Under my plan to reform healthcare,” says candidate Obama under this hypothetical, “we’ll imprison anyone who doesn’t buy health insurance. And to enforce the requirement we will put 16,500 more IRS agents on the street.” -John Ransom

Under my plan for economic growth and recovery,” says our hypothetical candidate Obama, “we won’t even pass budgets. We’ll run up historic deficits and raise the debt ceiling, something that I condemned my opponents for. But we’ll do it without any systematic support or budget process.” John Ransom

“A successful campaign will heavily focus on the radical, do-nothing Republican Congress. That will resonate with people,” said Robert Creamer, a strategist for the progressive Americans United for Change. “Most [Americans] believe Obama shares their values and their concerns, and where he has failed them is his effectiveness to improve the economy. It seems to me the case the campaign needs to make is that that failure is a consequence of the damage created by Republicans and the refusal of Congress to take the necessary steps that he proposed for the economy.” = the biggest load of crap I have heard.

Feel free to add to the shrapnel....

Don't Hate the Hobbit, Hate the Hole. No Tax Tuesday 8 2 11

Bilbo BagginsImage by Dunechaser via Flickr
What is up with the Tea Party as Hobbits name calling nonsense? I know Joe Biden hates the Tea Party and has even called Tea Party members terrorists, but this is John McCain calling Tea Partiers Hobbits. So, Senator McCain shows his true colors.

Now, on this No Tax Tuesday on wonder if Tea Party members are hobbits what is Senator John McCain and those like him, Gollums?  It seems to me that the power hungry career politicians like Senator McCain most resemble Gollum the hobbit whose addiction to the ring made him into a slimy little beast? I mean really, if you call yourself a conservative, be one.  Don't just be so intent on making a deal, any deal, that you sell your constituents out. The Tea Party reminds the likes of John McCain, whose support he sought, that Republicans are supposed to stand for conservative values. The problem with making deals and compromising is that senators who do that too often end up signing up for a myriad of things they may not really want or believe in.

I understand that every now and then a compromise may be necessary but too many compromises have resulted in the government we have now. Our current government is out of control with no end in site. The current "deal" is supposed to balance things out in ten years. Ten years!? TEN YEARS!!!??? Ten years is two plus presidential terms away. Ten years is meaningless because so much WILL happen in the next ten years that will influence and change much of whatever is in any bill. Ten years is less than a trillion so, relatively it doesn't sound like that much. But, in real time ten years is meaningless. "Balancing" the budget in ten years is sort of like someone owing you $1,000.00 that you need to pay your mortgage this month, telling you they will pay you $10.00 a month for the next ten years. Not helpful.

By the way Hobbits are know for being dependable hard working folks, not always seen, but in the end the hobbit won the day. Gollum...he just wanted the power of the ring. So, Senator McCain, don't be a Gollum, be a hobbit.

Just a Little Cannon Fire

712 Tall ShipsImage by steeljam via Flickr

It has been a horrible time for Californians.
A foolish group of State legislatures who legislated over 1.2 million jobs out of California in the last 5 years alone.
A Democrat in Republican clothing of a Governor.
Next, a clueless populace that votes in the same group that put them into the mess they are in.
And we voted for a simple majority to eliminate the check and balance of legislature.
Schwarzenegger AND the legislature have been lame all around.

Until we have a President and a Congress that understands that America needs to produce products and that the governments jobs is to make that not only possible but probable, we will just become a has been nation.
Why is China doing well? Their government understands that to make money they must produce. And produce they do.
Who is lending to who?

After 22 years in education from Compton and Vernon to San Pedro, Elementary to High School, parents make the school. Yes, good teachers and administrators are helpful, but, if the parents are not insistent that their children succeed, educational success will just be a mirage. Parents must read with their children and monitor their school work.
My children attend a decent school district. The teachers are OK. But, it is still the parents that do what they must to ensure success, whether that means going over homework with their children or getting them a tutor.
Going charter will not change anything unless the parents change.

"We are looking at a $25-billion deficit," Leno said. "Voters need to understand what damage would be done if it were resolved with cuts alone."
Here we go my fellow Californians. Damage to what? The legislature moronic budgets that do nothing but create debt and drive businesses and jobs out of state?
Revenue for the state, less money in the taxpayers' pockets, the way of the liberal, that is Jerry's plan.

The La Habra teachers  are pretty gutsy striking in this political and financial climate.
They should take the furlough days but avoid the pay cuts and be very careful of the pay for "some of the health benefits" stuff.
I went through a strike and pay cuts in LA. It took over ten year to get our pay back up to what it was before the cuts.
By-the-way, teachers salaries should make up the bulk of the budget because they do the work of teaching (a bit obvious).

5,000 Pages of Loopholes Democrats will Blame Republicans For

President George W. Bush receives applause whi...Image via Wikipedia

"The result will be over 5,000 pages of new regulations on traditional banks and years of uncertainty as to what the massive new rules will mean," said Edward Yingling, president and CEO of the American Bankers' Association." (AP/Daily Breeze)

5,000+ PAGES!!! Uncertainty as to what the massive new rules will mean?!

What kind of Senators do we have that vote in a brick of a bill that they don't even know what it means? Unfortunately, the kind we have in California.
Thanks Barbara Boxer, thanks Nancy Pelosi for again saddling us with a winner of a bill. Did Boxer think it did something green? Did Pelosi think…did she think?

I mean, how many pages does it take to say, "You can't lie to borrowers, you can't trick borrowers, you must have proof of income capable of paying off your loan?" Does that take 5,000+ pages?

The Bible says, "The more the words, the less the meaning." If there is over 5,000 pages that means loophole after loophole after loophole. Now, when businesses start finding and using those loopholes Democrats will blame Republicans for being so greedy and actually wanting to make a profit. The number of pages are only meant to deceive, not clarify.

Remember the KISS principle. Keep it simple Senator!

So, in the end a 5,000+ page bill can only mean we the citizens are going to get the shaft.

Thanks again for representing us so foolishly Senators Boxer and Pelosi.

I will say my thanks to "Call me Senator" Boxer by voting for Carly Fiorina. What about you?
