What are you thankful for?

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am pretty thankful for a lot of things:

  • for my right to worship God as I please.
  • for my family. Not everyone has a great wife and awesome children. I am blessed.
  • for a job.
  • for friends. Old (Jesse the best man at my wedding, Billy, Nestor, Mark, and Miguel) and new (Big Lou, Chris, Frank, Wellington, and Leo just to name a few).
  • for a country where I can express my utter disbelief that enough people voted for a complete fraud and yet I can still have the hope that in the next four years he won't mess it up permanently (like FDR and his new deal we are STILL paying for) and indenture us and our posterity for time unseen.
  • for that turkey I will eat with my family and friends.
  • for anyone who reads this blog.
May God bless you and this great country we live in. Be thankful for all you do have.

The Media, Magic Johnson and Alan Kruegar on Flush 'em Friday the 11 16 12 Edition

Welcome one and all! Happy Flush 'em Friday! It's time to flush those and that which need a good old fashioned whirly twirly. The following is my list of flushables.

  • The Media/Propaganda Wing of the Left
  • CBS - What about Benghazi ?
  • NBC - What about Benghazi ?
  • ABC - What about Benghazi ?
  • KCAL - What about Benghazi ?
  • KTLA - What about Benghazi ? Can you say Benghazi? They can't.
  • Magic Johnson -  OK, I kind of wish the Lakers brass would of hired Phil Jackson. That said, I think he stepped over the line. Thanks for sharing, now shut up!
  • Alan Kruegar - from the Presidents Council of Economic Advisers. Thinks that inflation is doing well. Thinks that as an adviser he'd not involved with the politics of it all. Repeated big plan = tax the wealthy.
  • The word "reform" when spoken by a politician.
  • President Obama for nominating someone and pissing a brick because someone questions their credentials. Grow up.
That will do for now.

When Does Choice Begin?

If there is anything I learned from the election, from the primaries to the election night "coverage", was that some questions need to be reformed. I hope to write as many blog posts as I can concerning the issues as they are, not as the mainstream media says they are. I especially believe that Christians need to not allow themselves to be backed into moral corners with "Did you stop beating your wife, yes or no?" questions.

The first is the question of abortion. The mainstream media and those who favor abortion on demand insist that the issue is a women's choice to do as she wishes with her body. I will only ask this question: When does choice begin?

Does choice begin with the twinkle in your eye? With a decision to dine? Or maybe with a kiss good night? Maybe when you are just fooling around? When passion's ignite? I am just wondering when the right to choose first takes place.

Maybe the right to choose begins in front of the Dr.'s office or a Planned Parenthood building? Does choice begin while you stare at  pregnancy test kit? Or maybe it begins when you miss your period?

One day I was riding the Blue Line to work and two older ladies were discussing the "choice" of a thirteen year old girl. One of them said, "Well, I say if she wants to have a baby, let her have a baby! She has every right to do what ever she wants!" I was a bit stunned I will admit. Especially since they were discussing one of their granddaughters. My first thought was that if she could support herself and her child on her own, so be it. The problem is, that is not reality. Reality is that we, the working class support her. Don't tell me the government does, because the government relies on the working class (and the rich if you want to be politically correct) to "help" out those who can't help themselves.

Back to the question of when choice begins. Maybe I should call it responsible choice or culpable choice. But, I am sure that many who would consider themselves "progressive" or "socially liberal" would struggle with either of those because it implies maturity and the possibility of morality concerning abortion. Which is what is really at the heart of it all. Is abortion wrong? So, my question stands: When does choice begin and when are you responsible for the choices that you make?

Verizon Wireless, The Laker's Defense, The Catholic vote on Flush 'em Friday the 11 9 12 Edition

Welcome to Flush 'em Friday! It is time to give some well deserving nominees the flushing they deserve.  This weeks nominees are:

  • Verizon Wireless's $30.00 loyalty fee when you renew your contract.
  • The Laker's Defense - the only thing worse than their offense.
  • "Christians" who vote with someone else's ideology as their guide rather than God's eternal truth.
  • The Catholic limp wrists who voted for someone who insults their beliefs. Where is your conscience? I guess you just need to say a few hail Mary's and you're absolved.
  • The NHL owners.
  • Chivas USA. Done (flushed) by themselves.
  • The San Jose Earthquakes. Done.
  • Monty Kiffin. If he's such a defensive genius why can't he teach a five star recruit to defend against a crossing pattern or just a straight up run?
  • Any idiot who is so self deceived as to think the country is better off now than it was four years ago.
  • California voters who voted in "leaders" whose only plan for revenue is tax the rich which equals tax the crap out of the middle class. Then they voted to not approve higher taxes.
So, there you have it. This week's flushee's.

Tax the Rich, Keep the checks a coming.

As I watch the stock market begin to crumble and listen to the sounds of life going on I breathe.

A student in my first period class said that her mom said, "You better vote for Obama or the welfare checks will stop coming!"

The voters in my state voted in people whose best plan and only plan to is to "tax the rich" yet voted down most of the measures that would raise taxes, even on the rich.

I hardly slept at all last night. I am an emotional man. I can only look to God Almighty and trust that he is bigger than mankinds selfishness.

America is not really mentioned in Biblical prophecy concerning the end times. Many believe that America must become irrelevant geopolitically otherwise there would be some mention of a country siding with Israel. Will this President hasten that day?

Apparently the middle of America is actually liberal. Lord, help us. America without a Judeo-Christian soul and conscience will only be morality by popular vote.

I bow my head and pray...

PTVoice on Election Day

I can't believe I slept as well as I did last night! I am pretty nervous about the elections today. I think Romney's going to win, but, I live in a state that was "bright" enough to re-elect Jerry "tax you" Brown. I work with a bunch of people who believe what they are told without checking in on the reality they live in!

I have pointed out that the last time teachers got a raise, the last two times, were during or directly after a Republican was in office. Why? Because they truly cut the fat, not just little meaningless bits of fat. Jerry Brown made some cuts when he first took office, but it was like liposuction on someones arms but not their spare tire or secretary spread. You end up with skinny arms on a grotesquely obese body. There you have it, California in a nutshell, politically. Kind of sounds like the state of the country under Obama too.

So, I will go to work today. Do my best to teach middle school children to be self thinking, hard working, giving citizens. I'll get off work, go vote and hope for a real change.

May God bless America! Thank God we live in a country where voting is our right!
